Strengthening Advocacy: Civil Society Participation in Media Project, 2017

The Project carried out for promotion of civil society journalism in Turkey, CSOs’ participation opportunities in media, strengthening the advocacy and communication capacities of CSOs. Within the scope, workshops were held in Diyarbakir, Izmir, Mersin, Konya, and Trabzon with civil society organizations. In the workshops, news production exercises and discussions on civil society journalism were carried out in order to contribute to the capacity of CSOs in the province to produce effective contents. In the provinces where workshops were held, joint studies were carried out with journalists working locally to promote civil society journalism and content production activities were continued with the participating CSOs after the workshops. The last event of the project was held in Diyarbakır with the title “We Meet in Diyarbakır to Discuss Sustainable Cities, Environmental Problems, Development and Combating Poverty”.
